When YouTube was created

YouTube was created by Chad Hurley, Jawed Karim and Steve Chen. All of these 3 people met and worked for the American e-commerce company called PayPal. YouTube was founded on the 14th of February, 2005. It is said that the idea to start YouTube came from the Super Bowl Controversy when Janet Jacksons breasts were shown, and Karim couldn't find the clip anywhere online. YouTube was actually first meant to be an online dating service but struggled over time to get users so therefore they allowed YouTube to upload videos to gain more popularity. On May 2005, YouTube launched in public beta. Then the site became its own and launched which then had 8 million views. More than 65,000 videos were uploaded everyday by July 2006.

YouTube is a website for videos to be shared and uploaded online. You create a personal YouTube channel and upload your own videos. You can comment, like and share other YouTube videos as well. Theres also a subscription option where you can subscribe to other peoples channels. Over the years, YouTube has changed dramatically to the extent of YouTubers now being seen as celebrities and getting amazing opportunities and invites to go things like movie premiers, award shows and events across the world.

When people uploaded videos on YouTube, when YouTube first started, the videos being posted were very short clips with just a few seconds long. The videos would be off something random with not too much thought to it or direction. No one took YouTube seriously for a career or to be famous. People were quite silly on there!

People would film short clips on their mobile, it was rare for someone to have a camera and then edit and upload it on their laptop as people didn't take it too seriously. YouTube grew views really fast and everyday something new would be uploaded on there that would inspire others to do the same. YouTube is the second largest internet search engine and has over 1.5 billion active users every month. 400 hours of new content is posted on YouTube with 2 billion monthly users. In 2006, YouTube was one of the fastest-growing sites on the internet. When the first half term happened for YouTube, the website went from 4.9 million to 19.6 million users, which is a massive growth of almost 300%. In July 2006, YouTube rose its global internet traffic share by 75%.

She has gone viral many times with her outstanding coaching skills where she gives students singing lessons that she films which people love to watch and listen too. She practises vocal exercises and gets them to sing in her YouTube videos. She mainly teaches Italian students who want to sing with American rhythm.

Cheryl went to Northern Illinois University and got a scholarship to go and study opera singing. She then moved to Italy to carry on with her opera singing career. After moving to Italy in 1995, she decided to change her style of music from opera to gospel and jazz instead. She performed 'The Circle of Life' in The Lion King film, which was the remake version.
